Imagine cold emailing 100 people with a shitty email and wondering why no one responds
Well, that happened ….
It was the first time I was cold emailing companies, and I felt really confident.
I was actually doing statistics on how many customers I get can at one time and I never really took the time to craft a good email.
I spent 2-3 hours a day finding quality leads, searching on apollo.io and on ProductHunt companies that had about 200-300k revenue/yr and need cybersecurity services.
I eventually niche down on mental health apps because they are storing sensitive information and they make a shit hole of money.
Cold emailed about 40, then found about 60 leads in other health-related niches.
I waited 4 days, with follow-ups, but no responses.
I felt bad and didn’t know what do to. Then I went and started to ask some friends about my approach, and they all said it was fine. So I came to the conclusion that the problem is my email.
I created a Reddit post, in which I asked people to rate my email and it was brutal, I literally realized that my email was so bad and stupid, it made no sense.
Here it is, brace yourself:
Hi {{Name}},I hope this email finds you well. My name is Adrian and I am the founder of {{company}}, a remote pentest service that helps businesses maintain the security of their services by testing for security bugs and compliance with modern day standards on a monthly basis.
I was impressed by your work at {{target company}} and I believe you have a big impact on the constantly improving {{talk about his business}}. I am also a huge fan of your design and overall brand.
As a new company, we are looking for early supporters who share our passion for cybersecurity and are interested in exploring new solutions. I was wondering if you would be interested in discussing how {{company}} can benefit your clients and support your business growth.
I would love to share some ideas with you whenever you have some free time. Are you available for a 15 mins call in the next few days?

It is bad on so many levels, in this email, I am not talking about the problem, or even the solution, I only talk about me and my company.
So …. I guess I just wasted 100 quality leads, well at least I know why I wasn’t getting any responses.
What's next?
I got a few customers interested from my PH launch, and I am waiting for them to email me back, also I started to cold email again with a much better email, in which I skip most of the BS and get straight to the point, with a better CTA.
